To bring people back here regularly and consistently...? I miss people and the craziness that was us...I know we're all busy and what not...but I thought I'd ask what it would take to get you back here regularly...?

I don't know. We came because of SIP, we stayed because of the people, and then real life happened and we're each off doing this, that, and the other thing. I suppose one could say the newness of the thing has finally worn off, and it's probably true. One can gorge on a new delicacy until reaching the point of not wanting it at all, or at least not as much, and I'd venture to say that's the point we as a group have reached. We like STP but we're okay if we don't have it, and though we'll miss not seeing everyone regularly, we won't fall apart because life has changed for us and we have other fish to fry. Perhaps it has finally come time for everyone to take a break from the board.

The same thing it would take for me to be 20 again and have all the knowledge I have now.
Things change and cycle. I miss the craziness too. But back then it was new, I had more time, it was exciting getting to know people and play with them.
But time has passed, many of them are no longer here. The innocence of the time is gone. etc... Things just cycle. Many of the groups I was a part of 3 years ago, don't exist or are still limping along. It is the nature of BB's I think.
I still enjoy reading posts, even if I don't post so much. When I have something to say, I generally say it.

Sadly, I think I'm with Crazy and Asis.
On the other hand, there are people here that I like, like Crazy and Asis, that I only contact through this board.
I'm a different person than I was five years ago. Some of it's good, some of it maybe not so good.
Part of me thinks that it might be a good idea to just close the board down and all go our separate ways.
Part of me is afraid to take that step, because there will be people missed if we do that.
hmmm...
You guys are all on the new SIP forum, right? Perhaps we should simply call it a day here, and meet elsewhere?

I still come by (and click the banners) because this is still my HomePage
I'd hate to see the board go! Waaaa! SiP has a new board??
Part of the reason things are less zany is because there's way less people around, and few newbies. It takes a critical mass of loonieness to keep things hopping, and part of that is the newness and discovery of the whole thing.
Sadly, we're all jaded vetrans now, still bravely soldiering on (or something like that...)

Hmmmmm...pretty much what I figured...
And I know what you're saying, eris...there are plenty of people I just don't talk to much except here...seeing as no one ever e-mails me, and I was never very good with e-mail to begin with...
I suppose we just drift along keeping an eye on things...
That and a toga party...

Nooooooo! you can't close this board down, yes I do post on the SIP board occasionally but its not the same and you don't get the same leeway as you do here and I like the people here better and besides the other one almost moves too fast you check back in 2 days and you thread is 6 pages away coz them other people have more spare time than we do. I say we keep this (if Eris doesn't mind), even if it is a bit slow well that's our pace at the moment, some day exciting stuff will be happening and we'll have somewhere to share it that isn't also full of bunches of people we've never heard of.
